The Campus of I.Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University is the structural unit of the medical university that includes the complex of the hostels №1, 2, 3, 4 with adjacent territories. The Campus serves as the accommodation for Ukrainian and Foreign Students as well as interns, masters, resident doctor, postgraduate students, students of the preparatory department and the postgraduate training

faculty.

The Campus Administration coordinates the interaction between the university administrative-economic part, student government, Vice-Rector for National Patriotic and Educational Work, the Curator Council, group curators regarding the issues of leisure, educational, cultural, sports and recreation management in the Campus. The Campus Staff includes a director, his deputy, three inspectors.

Foreign Students live in the hostel; most of them come from India, Malaysia, Syria, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Poland and other countries,There are 508 bed places in the hostel. The hostel includes 206 rooms. Every floor has two wings each including 3 accommodation blocks, a side room, a kitchen and a home room.Every block consists of two bed and three bed rooms, a toilet and a shower room,Most rooms of the hostel are connected to the Internet.There are a hostel warden’s office, hostel staff office, spacious lobby and 2 libraries,There is a first aid unit on the ground floor of the university hostel,There are 30 computers connected to the Internet. The student cafeteria functions in the hostel.There are a spacious gym with modern pieces of gym equipment and laundry in the basement.The campus administration office is situated on the ground floor of the hostel,Ukrainian and foreign students reside in the hostel. There are 549 bed places in the hostel. The hostel includes 224 rooms. Every floor has two wings each including 3 accommodation blocks, a side room, a kitchen and a home room.
The hostel has its own local computer network. Most rooms of the hostel are connected to the Internet.The hostel has been redecorated recently.There are a hostel warden’s office, hostel staff office, spacious lobby and visit rooms for foreign students on the ground floor.There is a computer hall with 30 computers for the students residing in Hostels N 1 and 2. All the computers are connected to the Internet. Library

The library of the Ternopil State Medical University started its functioning in June 1957. The first head of the library P. S. Herasymenko was one of its organizers.The main task of the library is to provide our students with appropriate textbooks, to help the teaching-staff with their scientific research work, to educate students.With the development of University the quantity of students and library workers increased. The funds have been completed with the new literature in medicine, social studies, as well as fiction and foreign literature.Nowadays, the University may be proud of its library. There are 379543 literary copies including: 161716 scientific books, 202331 educational textbooks and manuals, 15496 belles – lettres.

Scientific laboratories

Research conducted in five research laboratories that have been accredited by the state and received a certificate of state certification. Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine from 08.07.2008 the Ternopil Medical University approved the parent organization of metrological assurance in higher education in Ukraine subordination of the Ministry of Health. This indicates a high level of scientific basis of the University. In November 2009, based on modernized scientific laboratory polymerase chain reaction opened virology laboratory of the University for the study of viral material to identify influenza A (H1N1). The laboratory performs research samples taken from patients professional virologists regional and urban sanitation centers, serving thus suffered from influenza and SARS city and region.

International recognition

For organizing a successful international business and establishing productive contacts with European and American medical institutions and thus to promote European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine in September 2006 Ternopil State Medical University named after I. Gorbachevskogo was awarded a diploma of the International Academy of rating technologies and sociology ” Golden Fortune “.The Nomination Committee of the European Business Assembly (m. Oxford, UK) and the Scientific Council of the International University. Vienna (Austria) honored Ternopil State Medical University named after I. Gorbachevskogo international award “European Quality”, which was presented September 22, 2008 in m. Barcelona (Spain) in the framework of the international meeting of leaders of science and culture “Euro Education – 2008″

Clinical work

Deepened cooperation staff clinical departments of practicing doctors of medical institutions in the city, which is a clinical databases of the departments. Participation of highly qualified professors, associate professors and assistant professors in the treatment process increases the level of indicators to assist the population of the city and region. In cooperative basis, in accordance with the Treaty, which sets out all aspects of cooperation at the Regional Hospital of January 1, 2010 established University Hospital. It has become the best-equipped specialized health care setting because, in addition to funding from the regional budget, additional funds will be drawn from the state budget and funds of the University.

Academic Time Table

The academic year at TDMU is divided into two teaching semesters.
Students are required to remain at the University until assessments for all their courses have been completed and should not make any arrangements for leaving the University before they know the dates of their examinations. The exam timetable is published towards the end of the Autumn/Spring semester.

1. People wishing to apply to TSMU please download the Application Form and email it to International Students Office,study@studyinukrainetoday.com together with:

  1.  consent of personal data processing (please, fill in this concent in English, French, Russian or Ukrainian language).

2. After receiving the packet of the above mentioned document you will get the detailed instructions. Please follow these instructions and an officialInvitation Letter for studying at TSMU will be sent to your correspondence address by courier express mail. The Invitation Letter should be submitted to the Embassy of Ukraine in your country for the purpose of receiving a student visa.
3. After obtaining the student visa you must inform the International Students Office of TSMU about the exact date of your arrival to Ukraine and your flight number.
4. Upon your arrival at Ternopil State Medical University you should submit the Application Pack to the International Students Office, and then you will be invited for an interview.

Preparatory Department
Students who wish to receive training in Ukrainian or Russian language are enrolled to the Preparatory Department. A 10-month preparatory program provides Ukrainian or Russian language courses, as well as chemistry, informatics, mathematics, physics and biology upgrading courses. The courses start on November 1.
After successful completion of the preparatory program students are admitted to the Medical, Pharmaceutical or Dentistry Faculties, or they can go to any other university in Ukraine and apply for any medical or non medical specialty.

For settlement into dormitory foreign student must have
1. Obtain reference for settlement (building 31, room 2-03);

Permit for temporary residence in Ukraine
To obtain a Permit for temporary residence in Ukraine foreign citizen within three days after arriving in Ukraine shall submit to the division of passport and visa of the Centre for International Education and the following documents:
After the end of training in the absence of grounds for extension of a temporary residence foreigner is obliged:
1. In seven days to withdraw the registration of residence.
2. Return a card of temporary residence in Ukraine and passport to the division of passport and visa of the Centre of International Education (building number 31, room. 2-01).
3. Leave Ukraine.
Failure to leave Ukraine after the expiration of the period of study entails a fine from 510 to 850 UAH.
Medical insurance
Foreign citizens are obliged to have an insurance policy in order to get emergency medical assistance. Insurance Policy fee is determined according to an agreement with insurance company (380-480 UAH per year against insurance company). Telephone numbers are provided in the agreement.

Students and postgraduates are obliged to pass medical examination every year and undergo medical tests proving AIDS absence. Students from Africa need undergo tests proving malaria absence as well. Medical service fee is 700 UAH per year.

ADMISSION

In order to gain admission & a student visa to study in the Ukraine you must apply for an “Invitation Letter”. To get an
invitation letter you must fill in a form (provided by Study In Ukraine Today) and include the following details:

Upon receiving an invitation letter, the student will contact the Ukraine embassy in his / her country in order to
apply for the student visa.
Note: Most Ukrainian embassies usually accept student visa applications and issue student visas throughout
the year. In some countries the embassy starts accepting visa applications and issues visas between 15th July
and 15th November. Extensions in these cases are made for the preparatory course until November or
December.
The following documents should be submitted to the Ukrainian embassy as part of the visa application process:
• A filled visa application form
• International passport valid for one year or more
• Original invitation letter from the college
• Birth certificate – Translated into Ukrainian.
• Note: The translation is done at the Ukrainian embassy at a small cost (usually between $60-$85).
• Original School Certificates – Translated into Ukrainian.
• Medical Certificate-Issued within one month of visa application and is translated into Ukrainian. This must
be an approved document by the health ministry in your country.
• HIV-AIDS negative certificate- Issued within one month of visa application and translated into Ukrainian.
This must also be an approved document by the health ministry in your country.
• One year health insurance-For some countries the insurance required is only for the travelling period.
• A bank statement from the sponsor to prove their financial ability to bear the student’s expenses in Ukraine.
If the sponsor is not the student or their parent, a sponsorship letter is going to be required.
• 12 passport size pictures (3 * 4 cm)
• An open return air ticket valid for one year

After getting the visa e-mail us the scanned copy of the documents in the list above.
NB: Ensure you have all the required documents before leaving your country. Entry into Ukraine will be denied if
you’re missing an important document.
We’ll assist you with the airport pickup and transfers from the international airports in Ukraine i.e. Borispol
International Airport or LvivDanylo Halytskyi International Airport. You must inform us before or after booking the

The US MD program course (equivalent to MBBS) cost around USD 160,000-200,000. While MBBS course from any of the Ukraine medical university last for 6 years for only USD 30,000 – 40,000.

  • Upon receiving an invitation letter, the student will contact the Ukraine embassy in his / her country in order to
    apply for the student visa.
    Note: Most Ukrainian embassies usually accept student visa applications and issue student visas throughout
    the year. In some countries the embassy starts accepting visa applications and issues visas between 15th July
    and 15th November. Extensions in these cases are made for the preparatory course until November or
    December.
    The following documents should be submitted to the Ukrainian embassy as part of the visa application process:
  • • A filled visa application form
    • International passport valid for one year or more
    • Original invitation letter from the college
    • Birth certificate – Translated into Ukrainian.
    • Note: The translation is done at the Ukrainian embassy at a small cost (usually between $60-$85).
    • Original School Certificates – Translated into Ukrainian.
    • Medical Certificate-Issued within one month of visa application and is translated into Ukrainian. This must
    be an approved document by the health ministry in your country.
    • HIV-AIDS negative certificate- Issued within one month of visa application and translated into Ukrainian.
    This must also be an approved document by the health ministry in your country.
    • One year health insurance-For some countries the insurance required is only for the traveling period.
  • • A bank statement from the sponsor to prove their financial ability to bear the student’s expenses in Ukraine.
    If the sponsor is not the student or their parent, a sponsorship letter is going to be required.
    • 12 passport size pictures (3 * 4 cm)
    • An open return air ticket valid for one year

    NB: Ensure you have all the required documents before leaving your country. Entry into Ukraine will be denied if
    you’re missing an important document.
